Even though they had to work in unpredictable weather both rain and wind , they worked efficiently and stayed on the job doing what they needed to do to protect the roof and themselves. The team that was subcontracted to do the installation got the job done quickly in about a day and a half. However, we soon noticed many shortcuts that had been taken during the install - two hopper windows in the basement wouldn't open, numerous sashes would not stay up, and a crank handle on a window had been installed incorrectly.
More frustatingly, I scheduled time off of work on numerous occassions at least 6 or 8 to meet a technician at my house, only to find that they had ordered the wrong size or color part. I'm not sure how this happens when they should have a record of every window that was originally installed. Whenever a part had to be reordered, I was not notified when it had arrived - I had to call AWT every few weeks to ocassionally find out that it had come in the week before.
During this ordeal I was in communication with at least three management level employees at AWT. All of them were apologetic and assured me the job would get done right. However, at no point did they visit us in person to inspect the work on-site, and at no point did they offer compensation or a discount for our wasted time and trouble.
When, in March , the correct parts were finally installed, nobody followed up to make sure we were satisfied. Suffice to say we will not be scheduling any more home improvement projects with American WeatherTechs.
