It is great for parts or as a restoration project. Horn has been chemically cleaned is in good mechanical condition all slides greased with Selmer tuning slide grease. Valves smooth, new non-compression water key corks. Horn has scratches, dings and plating loss but does not look that it has ever been buffed and heavy braces installed betwen leadpipe and bell pipe. This horn was probably re-plated and top and bottom caps, water keys and 3rd tuning slide ring plated in Gold and has a small.

The case, save for the handle, is in great shape and still has the Conn banner inside. This beautiful brass instrument would look great on someone's mantle or shelf. Seems to be in perfect working condition I took the picture with it on after 10 minutes to make sure the tubes are fully warmed. I have played this cornet and all of the valves work smoothly. This does come with a silver beginners mouthpiece and well cone. There are a few pieces of sheet music inside the case. The case is not in the best of shape but it does close and the inside door opens and closes fine.

Questions searched old TubeNet to no avail : I'm unfamiliar with these horns. Through the gold spray paint on the bell, I can make out the Pan American inscription, but is there identifying information on the main body, too? The horn is reasonably in tune, and 1st valve partials are ok except for c on the staff, which is painfully flat.
Is this par for the course on these horns? One valve button missing, the other two mis-matched. Is there a "standard tuba" thread that means I can purchase a set of anything off the shelf, or do I need to spec a particular valve button make? Also, anyone know a source?
