Google earth vista problems

Vista is full of mysteries One way to test that is to try it on a different Vista machine and see if it works there. Dear Mano, Thanks again for your advice! The file association of kml with google is set correctly. Also when klicking directly on the kml file, google Earth starts and shows the location as stored in the kml script. The only way out will be the Call shell through VBA. This however is more clumsy. Especially as my application is to run on any machine.

However it can be done. The hyperlink function was so much easier Of course I still wonder why the hyperlink to kml files does not work For the time being I'll give the Call Shell function a try For now thanks again for your response.!

Jan Huijs www. Hi Jan, The only other suggestion I have is looking into the Vista security model and see if there's a reason that some applications can be launched that way and some can't. Dear Mano, In the mean time, as you suggested, I have tried the Call Shell function in the buttons' on click event.

Mary G 7 Thorium. Thank you, Mary, for your response and advice. I am very dissapointed with Dell direct support. I have spend more than 4 hours on the phone on 3 or 4 ocassions. I even flew to the US with my Notebook I was visiting my daugther in Florida since the type of warranty I have, only covers hardware replacement over there.

I got a new hard drive from them, seemed to work better not perfectly for a while and when I'm back in Mexico I go back to my same exact problems. Crashes everywhere. I'm going to try contact them one more time, but I think I know I'm going to get the same "recipe": erase hard drive and reinstall everything from the recovery partition or from my original back up CDs.

I wish my Service Tag transfer to Mexico got to them I have no received acknowledgment from Dell on that and replace the entire machine, before I crash it against a wall.
